Brown spots after flare-up

After a pretty severe flare-up caused by what I believe was the overuse of antibacterial soap on my face, I was prescribed Elidel cream and Solodyn tablets.  I believe the diagnosis was atopic dermatitis.  Something I didn't tell the dermatologist that now worries me:  After the flare up, I developed brown spots on my face.  Most people think they simply look like freckles, but I did not have them prior.  I will be seeing the dermatologist again in two weeks, but am wondering (1) if this is something that should concern me in the meantime and (2) whether the spots are likely to be permanent.

Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Maybe the skin inflammation made these spots more noticeable.  I can't think of anything serious these spots could represent.  I advise you not to worry and simply to point them out to the dermatologist when you go in two weeks.  As to their permanence, that too will need to await examination in person.
