Bug/bite like bump on lip

Every once in a while, I get a bug bite looking bump on edge of my lip.  I try in pay attention to when it happens, but there were no common threads that I could figure out.  I only get one, sometimes on the top lip, sometimes on the bottom.  It usually goes away in 24hours.  It feels hot, sometimes itchy.  I have tried to do some research, but can't find any cases where someone has one bump.

Hi,

The bump, if accompanied by any inflammation (redness) could be due to mild infection of one of the small hair follicles that grow along the edge of the lip.

It could be caused by mild trauma, such as shaving, threading, or even biting your lip.

The bump appears to resolve by itself and does not appear to cause any other discomfort, so it could not be a  serious infection.

Do not touch the lesion frequently and apply a local antibiotic ointment over it.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
regards
