Bump/Lesion on Scalp

Doctor,

About 9 months ago, I somehow noticed a small and painless bump on my scalp located behind my right ear about 1 inch from my hairline.  After a while I forgot about it - recently, however, I noticed it again and it has almost doubled in size and is somewhat tender to the touch (and obviously becomes more tender the more I mess with it).  I have an appointment to get a regular skin check in 5 days with my dermatologist and will mention it then, but just wanted to get a second opinion on what you think it might be?  The link below will direct you to some photos I have taken over the past few days.

It looks like a nevus (mole.)  Scalp moles are often light brown or flesh-colored, and have hairs growing out of them, as yours does.  I suggest you leave it alone so the doctor will be able to tell for sure, and I doubt you'll have to have this removed (unless you want to).
