Bumps and red, slightly itchy rash on scrotum.

Hiya doctors.

In the past week my scrotum has been feeling strange.

It's got a red rash on one side, and the skin is extremely loose when either flaccid or errect. It's more wrinkled than usual, and there's small bumps coming in. I've had bumps on my penis for a while now, but now they're coming in further down. On the bottom, where the scrotum meets the anus, there is a mass of something that is almost shedding skin. The itchiness is more of a pang that a constant itch.

It is not an STD, I've never had sex. I've had people tell me that the bumps I described earlier were just where hair should come in, as I'm only just growing pubbic hair- is this true? Today I lathered it in anti-bacterial hand soap, there was a sharp pain for a while, but it eventually went away. After a while I did this again, and the pain didn't last as long, and applied it again and etc. The itchiness has mostly stopped after this, but the wrinkleness remained.

Any idea of what this is, or what I can do to treat it?

Hello,
The small bumps are just infected hair follicles and the surrounding itchy skin can be due to fungal infections. Pls keep the area of bumps clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. On the surrounding itchy areas, pls apply some over the counter antifungal cream. In case the symptoms persist then pls consult a dermatologist as oral antibiotics may be needed.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
