Bumps on Scrotum

by 10q, Mar 26, 2004 12:00AM
Around 7 days ago a bump apeared on my scrotum. It was very itchy and somewhat painful. It was a little smaller than a pea and had a whit puss like center like that of a pimple. I squeezed it and a little puss came out. It has a hard oddly shaped center underneath it. It's still there but lacks the white part now and hasn't gotten any smaller. Last night another one appeared at the very bottom of my scrotum. This one hurts and is very itchy and has a red center where the other one has a white one but looks exactly the same. I have folliculitus (folliculitis) on my head and have had it for years. What could this be? And also can follicultius be cured forever?

This could be folliculitis, or it could be one of your cysts.  Folliculitis often doesn't need to be treated at all.  If it becomes bothersome, topical and sometimes oral antibiotics can help.  You may need to settle for less than perfection, but significant help is possible.  Check with a skin doctor.  Meantime, for now just leave this bump alone and apply an antibiotic like bacitracin or neosporin.  If the bump grows or persists, let a doctor have a look.

Best.
