Bumps

by Fleabag, Aug 16, 2001 12:00AM
I am having a bout of three bumps several inches apart in the area above my groin.  The area was shaved a month ago and the hair has been growing back uninterrupted since.  The bumps are simply that, just bumps.  They blanche when pressed.  The skin is starting to peel over them similar to a sun burn.  This has been going on for a week.  They are not painful.  Several hair shafts are growing through each one, though it clearly is not folliculitis.

I will see a Doctor but would value your opinion so that I might bring this to the professional's attention.

Thank you.

If hairs are growing out of it, then it does indeed sound like folliculitis.  My advice would be to leave the bumps alon for 10 days, applying bacitracin ointment nightly.  If the bumps persist, then showing them to a doctor would be advisable.

Best.
