I’d like to hear the opinion of the forum concerning an oncoming a minor aliment I’m having. A year ago my forehand broke out in a slightly bumpy and burning rash. The rash lasted for several weeks. No other symptom occurred during this time. After the initial breakout future episodes sprang up sporadically. These new incidents presented itself as a minor burning sensation only. To treat this aliment I’ll tried different facial
soaps and creams. Nothing seems to work. I even visited a dermatologist. The dermatologist diagnosed the problem as SD. I beg to differ. Any idea what this might be?
Hello,
From the symptoms it looks more like contact dermatitis to me. It can be allergic or irritant contact dermatitis. Irritant dermatitis, the most common
type of contact dermatitis, involves inflammation resulting from contact with acids, alkaline materials such as soaps and detergents, cosmetics, or other chemicals.
Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl and apply some calamine lotion. Also wear cotton gloves while doing household work. If the symptoms persist then please get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
