Burning hands

I dont know if I am at the right site. If not perhaps you can refere me. In 2008 ny arms and hands started burning . I went to a physcian, and after an MRI I was diagnose with nerve damage. I had to have spinal infusion neck surgery by a specialist. the surgery for the most part was sucessful, right after the surgery the burn in my arms stop but the back of my hands, and the thumbs and between the index finger burn almost 24.7 that is why I'm up now 3 in the morning because I'm burning and can't sleep. I use asprin cream, cold compresses, aleve it helps some but not much. it seems like it burns more in the evening. On my follow ups my doctor tells me it's nerve damage, and not much can be done unless I have surgery again. I'm sure my nerves are pintched. I have a yearly follow up next month in Feb. My question to you is there a medication that the medical community can advice me to get, that perhaps my physcian is not aware of himself. I would appreciate any advice I can get to present to him. I am really hurting. for the most part I'm in very good health for a 77 year old female, but just need this severe problem address. I have asked this question on another site when I first joined MedHelp two days ago,,so far no one has responsed, so I  hope that I can get an resonse to this ASAP. to my inbox.

In such type of burning due to nerve involvement, cooling lotions like those containing camphor or menthol, capsacain or local anesthetic creams, amitriptyline and gabapentin tablets and electrical cutaneous nerve field stimulation also prove effective. You can discuss about them with your dermatologist.
