Burning sensation at tip of penis (urethra)

by anthony, Oct 22, 2000 12:00AM
This is an embarrasing situation, I tried explaning to my M.D. but he just said ask the dermitologist. This area burns slightly after urinating or sex, it seems to be only in the last inch by the tip, causing the opening to be puffy and red. There has been diminished sesitivity in that area. I have been taking antibiotics for a sinus infection and hoped it would kill this if it is an infection but it hasn't. Any advice on how to treat this?

Anthony:

Burning at the tip of the penis may just be irritation, but there's at least an outside chance it could be an STD like chlamydia.  if that has not been checked out yet, perhaps it should be.  I suggest consulting an STD specialist or urologist.

Best.
