Can I use both Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic acid?

by labyrinth, Oct 03, 1999 12:00AM
I don't have severe acne but I have clogged pores allover my face, they just stay there for a long time, never go away! Some of
them are blackheads, but some of them don't have color and I can simply pull them out.

I have tried many of those Retin-A products, but my skin became very uncomfortable, red and crack.

I just start using benzoyl peroxide 2.5% in the morning and Salicylic acid 2% pads at night, can this help reducing the formation of clogged pores?

Thanx!

Labyrinth:

Sure, you can use benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid together.

Among prescription medications, you can use other forms of Retin-A which aren't irritating, or else other medications like adapalene (sold as Differin).

Finally, pore cleansing by having facials can be helpful for clogged pores too.

Best.

P.S.  I hope your acne are not as complicated as your moniker!
