Can bikini bumps get infected and turn into ulcers?

I recently went to the doctor because I have bumps all over my vagina. I was so concerned it was an STD but the doctor said that there was no cause for worry and that I just have severe razor burn. Since I was so itchy down there I decided to get an anti itch ointment and the sally hansen no bumps spray to help numb the pain. Today I felt an unbearable sensation and checked myself out in the mirror... some of the bikini bumps started ulcerating. I went back to the doctor in a panic and they took a swab to send to the lab... I won't get the results back until Friday and I am panicking. I have only ever slept with one guy and that was two weeks ago. Could I have herpes or am I just overreacting? Could my skin just be irritated from all my scratching and the medicine? I am going back to the doctor on Friday but I was hoping for a little piece of mind until then.
