Can warts on my hand be transmitted to my infant

Can warts on my hand be transmitted to my infant

I have developed, what I think are, tiny warts on my hands.  (For the past few weeks my hands have been very dry and they have been splitting open which could be how I got them.)  I am freaking out that they might be contagious and I don't want to pass them to my 11mo old baby.  I have been wearing latex gloves for most of today when I hold him and everything but I did not wear them when I woke up this morning and yesterday.  I do have an appointment on Thursday with the dermatologist but until then I was wondering if this is a legitimate fear.  (Oh and other then a planters wart on my foot 1 yr ago I have no other history of warts.)

Hello,
It can be due to contact dermatitis, pompholyx if the bumps are itchy or due to viral warts. In pompholyx, exact cause is not known and excessive sweating can be one of the reasons. But some triggers like allergic reaction to soaps, detergents, foods, latex, nickel etc may trigger the symptoms.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

The Dr told me that they are . . .  what is called 'flat' warts.  She had no idea how I got them just that when peoples immune system was down they were more susceptible to contracting them or something like.  I have been trying to read everything about them.

The dr also said that babies have some kind of immunity to these types of things???
Is this true???

She burned them on my hands to try and 'jump start' my immune system or something.  (I don't know)  I have been trying to wear gloves anytime I change my baby and when I hold him.  The only problem is that he does not like the gloves and continues to fuss until they are off.

Does anyone know what the infection rate of 'flat warts' is in babies???
