Candidial Balinitis cured or not?

Hello,
I was diagnosed with a fungal infection of my penis about one month ago. I was prescribed two 150mg flukonazol capsules and a topical ciklopirox-olamin based cream. Afterwards I received a natrium-tetraborat based cream as a follow-up treatment (spelling may be off on the meds as I am not from an english-speaking country and neither are the meds). I also underwent a urine test for a range of std's which came back clear today and the doctor after examining my penis has told me that I was cured. My concern however is that some red spots and dryness are still present (the doctor told me not to worry about it) and I would like to ask for a second opinion as to whether this treatment is adequate, and if the red spots and dryness are still evidence of an ongoing infection or if they are harmless.
Thanks in advance!

Yeah don't try it at home though!!  Seriously I wish you the best.  Check with your health care professional who is knowledgeable on this procedure.

I feel your frustration and I have only been dealing with this the last few months.  I hear circumsion helps with balanitis, but if you have already been circumsized then this is not an option.

I read on another site a message board about balanitis - the poster said silicone scar sheets helped with this condition, but follow up posters did not replicate the success.     Can anyone comment on the the use of silicone scar sheets to treat this condition?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Some redness and dryness can persist after balanitis and should go away gradually. However if you have itching along with increasing redness, then recurrent balanitis should be ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Same story, I went to so many doctors and they all said not to worry, but my penis had red spots in glans and foreskin, searching i found out that it was a recurrent case of balanitis (got so many test and were all negatives for deseases). I supossed you are uncircumsiced so try to keep your foreskin retracted as much as possible, because the warm and moisture that the foreskin provides are the perfect conditions for bacteria to grow, air dry your penis after every shower, spread plain yoghourt in your penis once a day and also try to soak your penis in a glass of water with 2 teaspoons of white vinegar. I read time ago that a med help member used a cream called Desonide .05 and was cured for balanitis. Don't use any steroid cream as hydrocortisone, because that will make your penis skin very thin and it will take a long time to repair. Good luck
