Chikcen pox

Chikcen pox

I am 27, I got chicken pox 4 weeks ago.  I got the scabs all over the face and body.  During the first week I put some vitamin E, but my skin was too oily so I had to stop it because I was getting acne.  Approximately 2 weeks ago I started using an oil free daily gentle scrub to exfoliate and help the oil on my face.  The oil issue on my skin is improving; however, I don’t know if the scrub can damage more my skin.  I have the scars all over my face and body, but the ones on my face and torso are the most pronounced, (make up is not enough to cover them).  I can notice that the superficial scars are clearing little by little, but the deep ones do not appear to improve that much.  The scrub that I am using does NOT APPEAR to irritate my skin, but my questions are, Is it recommendable to keep on using the scrub or could it damage my skin?, Can I start using a clearing mud or multivitamin mask to help clearing my skin?

Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

The scrub is fine to use for as long as the crystals are small and not large. There are scrubs that should not be used daily. These are the ones with large and coarser crystals. After scrubbing, apply a moisturizer. There are light Vitamin E preparations. Mild moisturizers like Aveeno may also help. Wash your face with a mild cleanser such as Cetaphil. The scars will improve in time. The deeper ones may take some time to revert to normal. Do not forcibly pick on the areas. Your skin regenerates and heals spontaneously. Hastening the process may only cause further damage than good.
