Our almost 6 year old daughter had redness (not rash)on her buttocks and back of her legs last night which appeared warm to the touch. We used some diaper rash cream and this morning it appeared to have disappeared but with some roughness -- but as the day continues, it is beginning to appear again on both of her butt cheeks. Not sure if we should continue to use this cream or if it is something we should be concerned enough to take her to a doctor. She doesn't appear to be in any discomfort but as she has autism
Hello,
One possibility for such kind of rashes is chafing or rash due to friction rub. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen
