Children and Nodular Melanoma?

by LeslieErin, Aug 17, 2009 11:40AM
I have a daughter who is ten and is going to see my dermatologist soon, but until then I cannot help but worry. In June I noticed what I thought was a bug bite on her foot. It was smaller then, and has since grown. It is dome shaped, pretty much colorless and smaller than a pencil eraser. It doesn't do anything out of the ordinary like bleed or ulcerate.. so where's my concern? I was looking on the internet to see if I could find anything out there that resembled this lesion, and of course I came across Melanoma..I have a family history of Melanoma and other skin cancers (both sides of the family).

Is it possile this could actually be NM? I have now become very anxious, and this derm appointment could not get here soon enough. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you..
