Chronic Scrotal Discomfort

Chronic Scrotal Discomfort

I have an issue with my scrotum, the left side. It is reddened, irritated, burns, feels pinched, and itches at times. I have had this problem for about 6 months at varying degrees of discomfort. I went to STD clinic for fear that it was herpes.  STD nurse said she thought it was because I had a "lesion" in my grown area.  Tests came back and it was not herpes, but I did have NGU, but tests were both negative for Chlamydia and Ghoneria.  I then went to my doctor for help and he advised at first it was yeast. So he prescribed Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide. At first it burned like hell so doctor suggested Lotrimin. So I tried lotrimin for a month, and it got worse. I tried Monistat, it didn't help but only temporary relief.  I then tried lamisil, which seemed promising but eventually the irritation got worse and burned more. So I went back to the Nystatin and am currently on my 3rd week of use. The Nystatin works best out of all of them and I only get discomfort when its past time for another application. I've been to my doctor and now he thinks its just irritation. It seems that all of the anti-fungals only provide relief at the moment until I get hot and sweaty in the crotch area, which I do get frequently.  He won't give me a consult to go see a dermatologist. What gives. I also am a Type II diabetic which I have controlled BG levels.  I also am experiencing issues with neuropathy in my feet, but doctor and pharmacist don't believe it is related to my scrotum issues. The two do at times seem to team up on me and cause pain at the same time.  I am wondering if my diabetes is hampering my scrotal recovery.

Also, since starting over with the Nystatin, the reddened areas of my scrotum have expanded to my right scrotal area and have become for sensitive, soft, and the ridgy covering is leaving the area.

This is an epidemic. There are thousands of people with the exact same problem. The doctors try to say it's eczema, as they do with any skin problem. But then you see that eczema rarely affects adults. Maybe 15% of the population suffers from this horrible, life destroying disease. 2% of adults are affected. So how is it that all these people have eczema in there crotch. If eczema is becoming  more of a problem, then we need to put more resources into curing it.
The quality of life is more important than life itself. Who wants to be a walking rash that itches all day everyday.
If you have the same thing I have which it sounds like you can join the red irritated scrotum club, Then stick with Vaseline. It will not make it go away, but makes it a little better.
I'm going on two years of chronic torture.
