I am a 17 year old male and I got circumcised about 5 months ago in March 08. About 2 months after the operation I started to realize that I had bumps on my scar line. I thought this was strange but normalNormal saline flush considering I just had the operation 2 months ago. Now I am starting to worry that these bumps are permanent and not going to heal. My scar line down and around the frenulum has begun to smooth out but the bumps are still protruding. They feel much tougher and harder than the skin around them. Can anyone give me an answer about what these things are and how to treat them so they go away please!!!
Treatment of Fordyce spots includes CO2 laser or electro desiccation, TCA chemical peels(temporary treatment),diathermy or laser vaporization.Treatment is only necessary only if they are causing any trouble or the patient is feeling embarrassed because of their appearance.Otherwise they should be left as such.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
It looks like you are talking about Fordyce spots which are present normally on penis. Fordyce spots are small, bright red or purple papules that can appear on the glans, shaft or scrotum and usually affect younger men. They may occur as a solitary lesion, but frequently appear in crops of 50 to 100. They are painless and not itchy, but may cause embarrassment because of their appearance. They may bleed if injured or even during intercourse. So pls avoid picking them up.
