Circumcision scar shows blood 7 months after surgery

Hello,

I had my circumcision surgery 7 months ago. It's been a psychologically difficult recovery.
Today, I noticed that one section of my scar (on top of the penis) is kind of bleeding.
It is not actually bleeding as in blood dripping. The best way I can think about describing it is that if I press toilet paper against this section of the scar, tiny blood spots can be seen in the toilet paper.
That section of the scar has been quite red during the last couple of weeks. Also, I've always felt a little bump in that section of the scar.
I've been more sexually active in the last couple of weeks.

Do I need to urgently go to the doctor? Should I worry?
Is it a good idea to apply desitin?
I was circumcised due to a balanitis. Could this blood mean balanitis again? The affected area does not reach the head of the penis.

It seems strange to me that this did not happen before. By now, I thought I was fully recovered.

Thanks a lot,

Alex

Hello,
The symptoms are not suggestive of any infection but it can be due to an underlying skin infection which is causing these symptoms. I would suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist as if it is an infection, then antibiotics may be required.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
