Cold sore scarring

Cold sore scarring

I got two cold sores back to back for the first time (i usually get one a year and in same spot) and this time in two different spots. The first one healed well, no problems. The second one is taking it's time and now i have a red puffy area after the scab fell off and it looks like it's not going away...I still feel some tingling and this is meant to be the healing stage... the other new thing this time is that i've started using Vectavir, taking Lysine tablets and eating high lysine foods such as eggs and yogurt. Please help, i don't know what is going on

Hello,
Vectovir or Penciclovir is an antiviral medicine which is used for cold sores. You are using the correct medicine and the puffiness should subside in a few days. If it persists then get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
