Cold sores?

by whitemamba, Oct 20, 2009 03:40PM
I was on accutane for 6 months and once i got off i started to get what i think are cold sores. I used to get maybe one a year but for the last few months it seems like a new one pops up every few days.  They are white fluid filled bumps.  Also since I've been off accutane, my upper lip has been red and has lost the definite border, is this related to oral herpes.  So i guess my question is if these are cold sores and oral herpes how do i reduce their occurrence.  I have been taking lysine and have tried changing my diet but it hasn't worked. What i end up doing is icing them and they usually don't become full blown but I'm tired of having to worry about them.  I don't really want perscription drugs and abreva doesn't do a whole lot in my experience. What do you recommend? And yes I know i should see my derm but i really don't have the money right now.
