I noticed several days ago that there was a patchAllergy testing Skin color - patchy of skin spanning my lower back (about the size of an index card) that was rough to the touch. I tried (with much difficulty) to examine it in the mirror but saw nothing out of the ordinary; my skin looked fine. I even asked a second opinion, but there was no visible irritation. The area does not itch, hurt, or flake. I tried putting moisturizing lotion on it, thinking it might be dry skin, sunActinic keratosis Fontanelles - sunken Liver spots Sun protection Sunburn Sunburn first aid Sunken fontanelles (superior view) damage, or something of the like. This only helped slightly and temporarily.
Today I found a very small patchAllergy testing Skin color - patchy of similar-feeling skin on my arm. It is slightly discolored with a brownish tint only a shade or two darker than my normalNormal saline flushcolorColor blindness Color blindness tests Color vision test. Upon closer inspection of my lower back area, i discovered that in some parts of my lower back i have the same discoloration. I was out in the woods last weekend, so maybe that has something to do with it?
Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be discoid eczema ,pityriasis rosea, or psoriasis.
Pityriasis rosea is a commonCommon cold human skin disease which presents as numerous dry patches of pink or red oval rash. The rash may be accompanied by low-grade headache, fever, nausea and fatigue and sometimes by itching.
No treatment is usually required. In most patients, the condition lasts only a matter of weeks or months(upto six months)
If the rash persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.Other possibilities have to be ruled out then.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Warm regards.
