Completely flummoxed by this problem

I am not sure what it really is, but since the past few months, I started developing a dark region around my pubic area. Just below my testicles and it has slowly spread to my inner thighs. It itches ever few hours, but when it itches, it is really bad.
It seems to also have spread to my butt-cheeks. Earlier, my butt-cheeks were just dark red like how my pubic area currently is. But now, the butt-cheeks seem to be bruised, like how one would get a bruise due to a friction.
I am a virgin, & have not indulged in any form of sexual behaviour so far.
Yes, I did use to cut my pubic hair using a small scissor. Could this be the reason??
