Itching around the anus is called Pruritis ani.Excessive moisture may lead to this condition. Allergies to any soap, colognes, toilet papers, laxative use, pinworms all can lead to this condition. Skin problems like psoriasis, eczema and seborrhea are other few possibilities.Pruritis ani can be a common symptom of conditions like hemorrhoids and anal fissures. Avoid use of soap in that area. Rinse it with warm water and keep the area dry. Try not to scratch in that area. Seek the opinion of a surgeon for correct clinical diagnosis. Do write to us again.
