Constant itching

by sleepless in dallas, Mar 20, 2001 12:00AM
My husband has a rash or fungal infection of some kind on his buttocks where his checks meet.  It constantly stays red and irritated.  (8+ years)  He has tried many different types of over the counter anti-itch medications that offer very temporary relief (a few hours) but nothing that has made any long term difference.  What usually causes these kind of irritations?

Sounds like chafing or perhaps psoriasis.  If your husband has never gotten a prescription for a cortisone cream, I'd have him do that.  Should help both of you sleep.

Best.
