Contact Dermatitis on penis....

I have had this skin irritation for almost 1 year now. I have been to every kind of doctor out there and no has really been able to help me. I have taken anti-biotic, all types of creams, a patch test, and even a BIOPSY on my penis! The only thing the biopsy showed was contact dermatitis. Nothing has worked but some steroid creams but they started to think my skin out. I have been tested for STD's and recently took a blood test again. I have no idea what this is, I have changed my laundry detergent, body soap, everything that I could think of that could cause this irritation. I am 28 and have been sexually active since I was 16, I have had contact dema on my scotum but it went away after a week....PLEASE HELP! I am open to any suggestions....

This is obviously years later, but I'm 28 myself this year in 2023 and my story is the exact same as the original posters. Hope there's something to do without atrophying the skin. I didn't ask for this and it's killing my confidence and making me depressed. Not been fun.

Thank you for the responses. I have been trying to look up the term cutaneous atrophy and have not found a clear answer. But I am assuming that you mean the skin has been disturbed by all of the different medications I have used?

One of my problems with this has been that I (like an idiot) went ahead to continued my sexual behavior and used steroid cream to control the irritation. This went on for about 6 months, till I learned about my skin thinning out. At no point did ANY of the doctors tell me to stop... I have been continuing to see my doctor, and have (last week I saw him and he now has me anti-viral pills 3 times a day for 2 weeks) but he and everyone else in my city seems totally stumped. I have even been to the local university and they performed the biopsy and had no clue...

Jagesh- You believe that Vaseline applied to the dermatitis will heal the problem? Is this because you feel that the moisture will help the healing process?

No pictures please. Sorry to say this but you need to keep following up with your Dr. Since it has almost been 1 year it is not a STD and anything beyond that is out of my range here.
Maybe try posting in the dermotologist community and see what someone there thinks.
