Cortisone injection and lightning skin

I recently had a cortisone injection on my noseNose fracture for a cyst and have noticed lightning of the skin all around the noseNose fracture injection./ My question is this a temporary effect or is it permanent? And should I worry about skin atrophy (indentation?)

Hello,
It sounds like post inflammatory hypopigmentation. Although this type of skin problem is very difficult to treat, but you can try Elidel cream or Protropic ointment on these hypopigmented  areas. But use them after a dermatologist’s guidance. If the symptoms still persist then  you can talk to your dermatologist about laser-assisted chemabrasion(LACA).It has provided excellent results in such hypopigmentation. Regarding indentation, sometimes it is seen with the use of steroid injections but not in all cases.
