Could this be Herpes

by Ann2800, Apr 19, 2005 12:00AM
I am a 40 year old female and not sexually active for around 2 years.
I had a what I call boil come up in my vagina area around the outer hair area.  It finally turned a purplish red and has a head.  When I pressed it , there was some blood like a regular boil.  What is this?  I have never had such a thing.  It can't
be good.  Its a bump with a purplish looking vein looking sore.
This is scaring me...what does it sound like.  I had it about a month ago and it went away and now its back.

It sounds like a blocked follicle.  Compress the area with warm water, apply bacitracin or neosporin, and show the bump to a doctor, so you'll know for sure what it is.  But it does not sound like herpes or an STD.

Best.
