Could this be warts

by RTKL, Nov 16, 2007 09:11AM
Hi,

I have recently developed a small bump on my penis head (near the opening). I did contract herpes a few years ago and the last outbreak was a couple of months ago. I have a very hard time dealing with this sometimes and it gets me down a lot.
The last time i had sex was about 3 months ago and i am really scared that this is a wart. It is about a cm in diameter and quite raised. It is a single lump on its own and is the colour of flesh it is difficult to see it unless the light is right. I did put a bit if vinegar on it and didnt really turn white but it made it a lot more clearer to see. I know this isnt a reliable method tho. It hasnt changed in about 5 days.

Is there anything else this could be apart from a wart i know you cant really tell from the information i have given you but any advice would be appreciated as i am really worried and not gonna see someone till next week.

I have recently started seeing someone and told her about the herpes the last thing i want is to have to tell her i have a wart too.

Thanks for you time..

For some reason, most penile arts are on the shaft, not the head.  For this and other reasons, I think your lump is not likely to be a wart.  I suggest you leave it alone so as not to confuse the matter, and show it to a doctor when you can.  I don't think you'll get bad news.

Best.

Went to see STD clinic today the doctor basically said it did look a bit like a wart and sprayed it with liquid nitrogen (i think) but said it did not show up typically like a wart and that she was not convinced it was. So basically she didnt know.
She gave me wart cream to apply and said if it had not gone in 4 weeks to come back.  Not really sure what to think now but will see what happens i guess.

Hope this helps
