Curious Mole?

I have this mole on my thigh that has been there for as long as I can remember. The mole is a brown color but there is now a very dark brown bump in the center of it that is quite painful when I scratch at it or squeeze it. I assumed it was a zit type-thing so I tried to pop it, but it just rose to a large pink bump (but it still kept the dark brown center), when ever I irritate it you can barely tell it's a mole anymore because the skin is so red and the bump covers it entirely.
Anything to this?

Although it is difficult conforming a diagnosis without examination but it sounds like a picked hair follicle.It has happened after trauma and so chances of melanoma are less.Melanomas are usually >6 mm in size,with irregular borders ,asymmetrical and dark in color.

If you notice changes in the mole's/mark’s color, height, size or shape, you should have a dermatologist evaluate it. You also should have it checked if it bleeds, oozes, itches, appear scaly, or become tender or painful.So please get it checked from a dermatologist.
