Cyst question

I have a cyst on my right cheek that has become an eyesore. I read that doctors drain the cyst and remove the wall. Is it possible for me to simply just make an cut in my check and remove the contents of the cyst.

You would have to remove the capsule. I know people who have done it.

Yesterday I had my yearly physical. Everything was fine and I asked the doctor to remove a smallish sebaceous cyst on the surface of my breast. He agreed it was just a cyst and said he couldn't remove it, that I should go to a dermatologist. I asked why. He said he just didn't do it. What do they have, a union? Something as silly as this does not require a specialist, and d****d if I will pay another fee. I will disinfect a single-edge razor blade and take care of this minor problem myself.

A sebaceous cyst is a closed sac occurring just under the skin which contains a "pasty" or "cheesy" looking substance called keratin. They may occur anywhere on body but scalp, ears, back, face, and upper arm, are common sites for sebaceous cysts. Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles and excessive testosterone production will cause such cysts.

Generally no treatment is required but they are cosmetically unpleasant or become painful then it means they are infected, then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required. For this you need to consult a dermatologist.
