DARK SKIN ON FINGERS

I have dark dead skin on my fingers and toes and I've already been to the dermatologist...she said there was nothing they do as far as medicine but maybe there can be a "homemade" solution. Anyway I just want them to look normal because I'm tired of being asked questions about them and hiding it.
Everyone thinks I'm talking about warts or something else and its not it. Its literally just dead dark skin that comes off with nail cutters with no problem but looks so bad after put in water or any liquid and grows right back.

I hate it. Please help.

Hello. I notice that the skin on my index and thumbs on both my right and left hand has become darker. They are darker than the rest of my limbs on my hands. It's not just the knuckle area, but the entire limb of the index and thumbs. What causes this?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough, but it can be due to hyperpigmentation of the skin. This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin.

Treatment involves hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist before using them.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
