Dangers of untreated inflamed lipoma?

Dangers of untreated inflamed lipoma?

Hi, I am 24 years old, male and in good physical shape (I go to the gym almost every day).
I have had a lipoma on my lower back (aligned with the spine) for at least 10 years. It has never caused me any discomfort, until now.
Two weeks ago it began to hurt when the slightest pressure was applied to it. It also became very warm. Everyday since then it has been getting progressivelly worse. Now it feels very hot and it also became a dark red color. It also enlarged slightly (as if swollen).  It hurts very badly to the touch; I can barely walk normally because even the contact it makes against my pants is painful.
My question is this: I do not have medical insurance and connot afford to see a specialist. Is there any long term harm that can come as a result of an untreated inflamed lipoma? I will probably have insurance in about 3 months. Can I wait to have it treated then? Or does this require immediate attention? I can deal with the pain, I just don't want to harm my body long term.
Please help.
Thank you.

Hi

This lipoma may be infected. I would suggest that you take oral antibiotics for this. Have this assessed by your primary physician at least so that you will be prescribed the right medications.

Lipomas once they become symptomatic, that is, there is change in color or pain becomes apparent may need to be surgically removed. Take pain relievers also to help alleviate the swelling and the pain.

Thank you for your reply,
but this isn't what i was asking.
I was asking what the worst case scenario is if I do not treat the lipoma infection.
