Dark black bump on leg

by aagorin, Sep 09, 2009 01:27AM

I noticed a dark black, firm and smooth bump on my leg (upper side). It is oval, almost like half-sphere, 5mm in radial diameter, 3mm vertical.
There is small amount of redness on one side. When I touch it, it is not painful.
I have a dermatologist appointment soon.

What  this could be?

Thank You.

To: aagorin,
Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be seborrheic keratosis. It is a benign skin growth of keratinocytes. A skin biopsy will be helpful in confirming a diagnosis.
I sincerely suggest you to consult a dermatologist and get it evaluated.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
