Dark "rash" on the back of my neck

Hi MH,

I just recently noticed that I have dark splotches on the back of my neck. They don't itch and aren't red, they are brown. I think that it may be some kind of fungal infection but I am not sure, what suggestions can anybody give me? I want to get rid of them but my old doctor couldnt tell me what they were either. Please help.

I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be due to atopic dermatitis, lichen simplex chronicus , tinea versicolor which is a fungal infection or acanthosis nigricans. Acanthosis nigricans is a condition characterized by abnormal thickening and darkening of the skin, especially in body creases. to confirm the diagnosis, I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
