I have moluscum (molluscum) contagiosum since July 2008 so its going to be 6 months, I was trying to just let then go away as you say in some post, but know Im really worry cause I think I have then around my face.. and there are like 6 big pimples!  And i still have then in my genital and in my inner thigh.

My mom doesnt know but now since I have then around my face I thing I must tell her. My question is that its better for me to go to a dermatology or to go to a STD doctor??  

Im really worry specially because of what my mom should thing about these sexual contact!! please tell me what i should do about these MC and if I just let then disappear should they will go away?? its realy important

Hello,

Molluscum contagiosum is a common, benign, self limiting viral infection of the skin. Individual molluscum lesions may go away on their own and are reported as lasting generally from 6 to 8 weeks to 2 or 3 months but sometimes they last longer. However treatment includes physical destruction or manual extrusion of the lesions, cryotherapy, and curettage.You can discuss these treatment options with a dermatologist.But first you have to discuss it with your mother and then consult a dermatologist for their removal.
