Depigmentation of the penis

by cristi_20a, Jul 30, 2004 12:00AM
Hi.
Im 26 now. When I hit puberty my penis got the normal adult coloration, but in the next year or so, a patch of discolorated zone formed, quite rapidly and since then, once in a while (once in 8-9 years) it grows more.
What can it be? I mention that I have white skin and I only get red in the sun and I never had a proper sun tan, because is very dificult for me to get. Ppl always tell me that I'm white as cheeze :))
Also, more recently I got a nail fungus, so I will use Lamisil. Can that help my discoloration too? Since I would guess it might be some fungus involved?
Thank you.

This sounds like vitiligo.  It does not sound likke fungus.  Vitiligo is a common condition in which pigment goes away.  Cause is unknown.  Other than appearance, vitiligo has no significance.  I suggest you get a dermatologist to tell for certain whether you in fact have fungus and whether Lamisil is appropriate.  At that point you can have your penis looked at too.

Take care.
