Dermatologist or Trichologist

Hi, I'm only 18 and I have a lot of body problems. One of which is I have very bad acne problem, and I just can't help it. It seems that even when I uses facial wash, I still get this pimples stuff. When used a product with stronger ingredients, my skins dries and crack so I discontinued use. I just keep getting these pimples and acne no matter what I do. Is there any drug I can get to clear this issue?

Whats more irritating is this "pimples" actually infested my head which caused me uncomfortableness and embarrassment when my friends saw my scalp with "pimples". It often itch and do bleed when scratched, and my hairs are dropping at a scary rate. Not only this "pimples" infested my head, I even get them on my neck, my shoulders area...even my UNDER-ARM do get it. And when I burst it, it has a yellow "solid-like" particle that i extract out along with the pus and blood (just like acne).

Is a dermatologist similar to a trichologist?
If I ever want to look for a specialist, who should i approach?

Acne are an infection of the secretions from the oil glands. Such glands occur on the face and scalp, the areas you have indicated. Due to the infection, there is development of pus and this may later discharge.

It appears that what you may be having is a specific type of acne called as Nodulocystic acne. This may need intensive therapy under the guidance of a dermatologist.

Usually a dermatologist is a certified doctor who specialises in Skin, Nail and Hair diseases. A trichologist - is perhaps a specialist of Hair disorders. This is not a certified subspeciality as of now, though may be some people who concentrate in this area.
