I got the sunburn about 2 years ago. My face has been red ever since. Its almost as if it stained my skin red. When i eat my face gets even more red, When i shower my skin is ok immediately after maybe a tad dry, but about 2 hours later it is VERY oily,My skin was always pale, but after the sunburn from under my eyes to my chin is very red. My neck is tan but my face has never tanned good , it just burns .... What would you reccomend as a good moisturizer?. I have skin that seems to breakout anytime i put lotion or moisturizer on it .... also im very oily and the lotion just makes it look even worse. thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

Adapalene or brand name Differin is used to treat acne. The following side effects may occur: redness, dryness, scaling, burning and itching of the skin. The effects usually lessen as you continue to use the medicine, however, if these continue or are bothersome, you should inform your doctor for proper management.

On the other hand, with your work outside all summer, sunburn is considered. Are there other signs or symptoms present? At this point, the best thing to do is to re-moisturize your skin and keep it that way while the sunburn heals. Moisturizers and oatmeal baths sooth the skin. After the skin peels, the healthy skin surfaces and should even out your skin color. If the redness persists, it is best to discuss this with your dermatologist for further evaluation.

Take care and keep us posted.
