Difficult Hair regrowth after cancer treatments

by ALEGRE, Jul 17, 2008 02:27AM
Hello !
I've been treated by chemio, Endoxan-Farmorubicine (4 cycles) and Taxotere (4) with the last one in august 2007, for breast cancer.
I started Arimidex (hormonotherapy) in septembre 2007.
My hair has grown back with bald patches on top of the skull and at the back. The rest is very partially covered (except at the temples). The texture however is similar to that of my former hair. I hate to think that I might keep this man-looking head !
As you can imagine, I hear the worst about my situation, and what I read on french forums does'nt help. My moral is very low ...
Is my situation something rare ?
And is this "repairable" and how ?
At the drugstore they sold me Alostil 2% (Minoxidil) and Lobamine-cysteine (DL-Méthionine - Chlorhydrate of cysteine anhydre). The Alostil notice says that it cannot be used when hair has been lost because of medical treatments (!!!) and the Lobamine-cysteine notice says that it must be used when skull is very greasy (which is not my case !!).
Thank you ever so much for your aswer(s).
Sincerely
Alegre (from Paris, France)
