Disappearing Red marks

Disappearing Red marks

So my 2 yr. daughter keeps getting these flush red marks on her skin that show up and disappear randomly. It looks like she has gotten hit with something or bumped herself but it is always at a time where I know that can't possibly of happened.  I.e. in her high chair,  watching tv with us, or playing with a toy.  She usually gets a few at a time and they are spread out on her face, back of her arms, and neck.  They will last for about 30 minutes or so, longer than if you smack your skin or cause a red mark externally.  They really have me boggled.  She doesn't seem to notice them or is bothered  but I was hoping for a little clarity on this.   There is never a common shape to them but they are very distinctive.  Anyone have any ideas?

Hello,
It cannot be confirmed without investigations whether tuna fish allergy was responsible for these symptoms. Such symptoms can also be due to dermatographism or dermatitis skin. Dermatographism can be caused by stress, tight or abrasive clothing, watches, glasses, energetic kissing, heat, cold, or anything that causes stress to the skin.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Hello,
Such a rash that appears and disappears is due to hives which is usually due to an allergic reaction. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can give her some oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin after consulting her pediatrician and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used, whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid. But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Thank you so much.  My daughter is doing good. She still has not shown that she even notices these marks.  I  haven't been able to figure out what she might be allergic to.  She has no known allergies at this time.  Also there is no rash, raised  bumps or other hive like appearance to the skin.  Is there something that would cause blood to pool under the skin to make it flush?  What causes our skin to turn red when it's smacked?  Thats what these marks look like, but I know she hasn't been smacked.  Thanks again.  I know she tried tuna for the first time the other day, but didn't like it so she didn't eat it.  Do you think that could have been it?  She has had fish before with no reaction.  That was the only new introduction in months.
