Discoloration of the Penis

by caress, Jun 23, 2003 12:00AM
About 5 months ago we noticed that my husbands penis and testicles were changing color., he is dark skined and the spots on his penis and testicles are white. He seemed to have dry skin first.  We recently had a baby and now are sexually active again and he now has about two more spots.  Why is this happening, what is it?  I am very concerned and wondering what this could be. I appreciate all the explaination and help you could give us. He works outside in the heat alot could this have something to do with the discoloration?  Please reply.

If what you mean is that your husband is developing white spots, then it's probably vitiligo.  This is a common condition which often affects the penis.  It's just a pigment change.  It worries people but means nothing (and there's not too much to do about it.)  Your husband should see a skin doctor to get a secure diagnosis.  Tell him not to be embarrassed about this.  Then you both can and should ignore it.

Best.
