Do I have scabies?

Do I have scabies?

I went to stay at a friends house for two weeks on vacation and my friend let me sleep in his bed for the whole time. after about a week I started getting what seemed to be little bites in different areas of my body and itching in those spots. My friend started itching a lot as well. He told me that one of his cousins who comes over a lot had scabies but had gotten rid of it. So I am starting to worry because I have never had scabies before and all these things I am reading on the internet are freaking me out. Now its almost 2 weeks later and I am back home. I am still getting these little itchy bite like things but my friend doesn't have them anymore and he didn't do anything for it. So it makes me wonder if I have scabies or could it be something else!!!??? HELP!!!

I know bed bugs itch a lot, have you considered that.

Hello,
The diagnosis of scabies cannot be confirmed or ruled out unless investigations are done. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.
I sincerely advice you to consult a dermatologist and get it ruled out.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep posted in case you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
