Dry, Scaly and Discoloration after Epididymal Cyst Removal

Epididymal Cyst Removal

Dear Sir:

Your immediate response would be appreciated.

Some years ago, I discovered a small lump in my scrotum. I was concerned and nervous about the possibilty of cancer.

My GP referred me to a surgeon who said that it was an Epididymal Cyst. He performed an operation in his office assisted by one attendant.

He removed a piece of whitish tissue from my scrotum, and placed in a solution and showed it to me.

I returned to work the following day because he (the Surgeon) did not instruct me not to go to work. While walking towards the photo copier, I got an unbelievable pain in the lower section of my abdoman. I could not move, I was frozen to to spot where I stood. A colleague rushed over to help me move to a seat.

I contacted the surgeon and explained what had happened. He gave me an explanation and asked me to chek back with him later.

A week or so later, I noticed that the head (gland of my penis) had changed color. I also examined myself and noticed that the lump was still there. In other words, he did not remove the lump. I believe that he unnecessarily removed a piece of tissue that possibly caused the discoloration and dry scaling of the head of my penis.

In addition, I noticed that my heel on my right foot also dried up and continues to do so the same as my penis.

I contacted the surgeon and explained what had happened to me. I was sent to a dermatologist who prescribed a cream called Hydrocortisone. Nothing changed. I did not tell him about my possible explanation.

I have never had these problems before the surgery to remove the Epididymal Cyst.

Is it possible that the cutting of veins etc. which carry blood to my scrotum and penis and later to my feet is the cause of my problem?

Please be honest with me about the probable cause.

Brotherwil

Hi.
I do not think the surgery could have caused this. Dryness of the penile skin with associated dry patches of skin in some areas of the body (eg in your case the ankles) may suggest differentials of dermatitis, psoriasis or fungal infection. When you say that the penis has changed in color ,would you mean it has turned bluish or purplish? Is the area itchy? Is there any scaling involved?

You have to discuss this with your surgeon .Discuss the procedure done to you and your thoughts and concerns with regards to your present condition. This is necessary.
Have you tried applying the corticosteroid cream? Has the skin condition improved?

Hello:

When I mentioned that my penis has changed in color, as a darker complexion person,
I am saying that it has turned whitish  due to the lack of blood circulation. The area is not itchy but it becomes scaly.

I have discussed it with my surgeon and I have tried applying the corticosteroid cream. It does not help and it my condition has not improved.

As previously asked, Do you believe that a vein was cut?

Thank you
