Dry armpit region

by DENISE, Feb 09, 2000 12:00AM
My armpits are extremely dry.  I was wondering if there was some type of deodorant or deodorant alternative that will help to moisturize them.  When using any regular types of deodorant my armpits break out on large red rashes that are very uncomforatable.

Denise:

Many people with dry armpit rashes don't have a problem with antiperspirants so much as a mild form of eczema common in that region, which antiperspirants just aggravate a bit.  Try OTC hydrocortisone (1%) twice a day, and see if that doesn't make it go away.  If it does, you can resume it once in a while as needed.  If it doesn't help, ask a doctor to prescribe a somhwat stronger cortisone preparation.

Best.

I perspire a lot more than most people. I've tried many kinds of antiperspirants but none of them have worked. Do you know of any perscrptions which are stronger than store bought products?
