Dry skin and facial hair problem.

I'm not really sure how to say this, but I really need help. I have skin problems that are causing me depression. Anytime I shower or shave my skin dries out and becomes a little flaky. This happens every single time my facial skin gets wet. After about a day it returns to being basically normal again, but by then it's time to shower or shave again, and the cycle begins again. Besides that I have a problem with the way some of my facial hair grows, and I think it might be tied to the dry skin thing. On my left cheek there are several black spots(3-4 last time I checked) where I can see the tip of a hair on the surface of my skin, but the hairs don't continue growing through. The black hair tip just stays there. Also, sometimes I notice 2 hairs in one follicle, and when I pluck the hairs to clear the follicle there will be one full hair down to the root, but the second hair is just a small piece of hair. Why would that happen? Can my hair follicles be plugged with partial hairs that are no longer growing? Wouldn't they be pushed out eventually? I really hope I can find some answers, I very self-conscious and this problem is causing me to want to stay inside and alone. Thanks for any answers.

I agree with above comments, but more specifically you can use a natural based lotion that will last all day. I have forums every evening at 7pm MST talking about dry skin solutions among other natural solutions for health related issues. If you are interested in listening in I can share the details in a personal message.
I hope you can find some relief!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From your symptoms it looks like xerosis. The mainstay of management is liberal use of moisturizers after washing with luke warm water. Soap should be used minimally. Moisturizers should be reapplied liberally during the day.You can also use a topical cortisone (steroid) cream or ointment like dermacort(hydrocortisone). Adding a humidifier to the central heating system of your home or using a humidifier also helps.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
