Dull sudden pain on corona of penis, no markings

by slammer35, Sep 13, 2009 08:59AM
The next day after having sex with my wife for quite awhile, I noticed there was a very dull pain (sensation) on the left side of my penis, pretty much on the corona.  This dull pain will suddenly appear and last for a second or two and go away and I noticed it is more common while moving and wearing clothes.  The sex did last for a while and there was a lot of rubbing and I suppose friction to that area (my wife knows that is the most senstive part of my penis).  Is this just of matter of friction and irritation to the area (gland) and just will take some time to go away?  This has been occuring for about 3 days, and it does not really hurt to the touch or when I have an erection.  I do not notice any markings, or bumps, or anything unusual skin-wise.  It is slightly more red and maybe a little inflammed compared to the corona on the right side of my penis, but it is such a small difference it just may always be like that and I have never noticed.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

To: slammer35,
Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but this swelling can be due to friction rub or chaffing. Chafing is a continuous rubbing of the skin that causes redness or soreness.

Chafing occurs when the skin becomes irritated by the friction caused by rubbing – either against other skin or against a foreign material. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist.

I hope that helps. Take care and please do keep us posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
