I have small reddish and brownish bumps all over my back and on the top parts of my arms. I've had them for 5 years now and after doing some research I believe they are called Keratosis Pilaris. I was wondering if there is any way to get rid of them or smooth them out. They are kind of like pimples when you pick them they kind of have that clearish ball-like thing. Anyways, pls help me, I'd like to be able to wear short sleeves and sleeve less shirts without feeling so ugly.
Keratosis pilaris is a commonCommon cold genetic follicular condition that is manifested by the appearance of rough bumps on the skin and hence colloquially referred to as "chicken skin".
Pls keep the area clean and exfoliate at regular intervals. If the symptoms persist then it is better to consult a dermatologist and rule out folliculitis.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

Keratosis pilaris occurs when the human body produces excess keratin, a natural protein in the skin. There is currently no known cure for keratosis pilaris, however, there are effective treatments available which make its symptoms less apparent. Treatment includes tretinoin or Triamcinolone cream or Adapalene, a retinoid medication. Exfoliation, intensive moisturizing creams, creams and lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids and urea may be used to temporarily improve the appearance and texture of affected skin.
