hair. Doctors have told me it could be several things, though the most likely thing is allergic contact dermatitis. I have also had a round rash near my left hip
, but the recommended 4 weeks of antifungal treatments did nothing to make it go away. The rash grew to about 2.5 inches in diameter and has remained that size for about 8 months.
Both of these rashes are characterized by dry swollen
skin that is itchy from time to time. The inguinal rash is flaky and gets particularly red after I have been exercising w/ elastic athletic briefs on, otherwise it is faded and closer to natural skin color
. It has been unfazed by corticosteroids, antifungal creams, moisturizer, and other treatments. The one thing that seemed to suppress it very well was melanotan-2 (an injectable tanning steroid), I noticed that besides my crotch being rash-free, my forehead and scalp seemed to be oilier. I don't use melanotan anymore (I'm not sold on its safety)...my rashes are back.
These rashes are comfortably superficial for the most part, but I'm concerned about a couple of things. When I am sexually active I am concerned about the fragility of the inflamed skin, and I'm wondering if allergic contact dermatitis and other eczemas have degenerative effects on the immune system over the long run.
Any answers to these questions - as well as potential treatments to the rashes - is much appreciated. Thank you.
