Eczema/herpes?

by concerned34, Sep 05, 2005 12:00AM
2 Months ago I had sex a few times with a girl who told me she had genital herpes.  She said she hadn't had symptoms in years and sex was pretty much fine as long as we used a condom.  A couple weeks after we broke it off I was masturbating (rather vigorously) and I felt a pain on my penis, I looked down and saw a redness that almost looked like a little cut.  The next day it seemed to scab over and then fell off a few days later.  The skin still seems slightly scared if you look at it.  I continued to have protected sex with another women and no problems occurred.  However, recently I was masturbating and then I noticed the slightly painful sensation I felt before and so I stopped.  The next day I noticed a scab on my penis (very small like the time before).  I do have a history of eczema but rarly on my penis or genital area, and I am concerned I have contracted an std.  I make good money but my job does not provide insurance I am concerned that if I do have an std or go to a doctor that this is going to cost me lots of money.  However I cannot take not going to a doctor as this is driving me crazy and I do not know what to do.
please help

It sounds like a cut from friction, not herpes.  For definitive diagnosis, you will need to show it to a doctor.  Take a photo in case it isn't there when you go.  It should take one visit, which shouldn't be prohibitively expensive.  Meantime, no excessive rubbing, please, for clarification.

Best.

I have a similar condition to what you have.  I really doubt you have herpes by your description.  You can try using a steroid cream or anti-fungal cream, such as cortizone cream.  I currently have a new thread open on this topic, to find out exactly what it is.  But I know its not herpes.
